This data set of approximately 3,000 firearms recovered in Mexico from December 2006 to December 2010 was leaked to a journalist in 2011 and shared with Stop US Arms to Mexico. The data includes many details about each recovered firearm, including details about the firearm, FFL where it was purchased, date and location of purchase and recovery, individuals who purchased it and with who it was recovered.
The firearms represent only a portion of firearms recovered in Mexico and traced by ATF during this period, and coincides with firearms purchased during the ATF’s “Fast and Furious” operation. However, there is no indication that any the data was tampered with.
