Stop US Arms to Mexico and the Mexican Commission for the Defense and Promotion of Human Rights present “Firearms in Mexico,” an interactive platform that permits users to visualize what, how many, where, and when guns are purchased by Mexican police, lost and stolen from police, and recovered at crime scenes by the military.

The visualizations draw on data obtained through information requests to the Mexican army (SEDENA), from other agencies and from public sources. Viewers may choose a Mexican state or all states, one year or a whole period, to see in charts and maps the details of firearms by type, make and origin, agency involved, costs, and municipality, in English and Spanish.
